For one year I photographed everything that came in and out of my body. I started this project on March 20, 2003, the first day of spring, and finished on March 19, 2004, the last day of winter. The piece consists of almost 7000 photographs, representing a complete visual record of everything taken in and excreted by one human in one year. For me this creation was an end in itself, encompassing performance, discipline, the absurd, the mundane, time and repetition. I titled it 35, my age when the project began.
Now 53, I present 35 as it unfolded 18 years ago. On the first day of spring 2021 images began appearing here and will continue to do so for the entire year, mirroring the original sequence and timing.
